garden family portraits in balboa park & san diego museum of art

I must admit.  Blogging is not my strong point.  With the new year and a new perspective, I’ve promised myself to blog more consistently (and openly) even if it’s about my day-to-day musings.  And, of course, every story can’t be read if there aren’t any pictures (says my inner child)!:)

2013 is going to be a great year creatively, personally, and professionally.  There will be beneficial business changes.  There will be plenty of birthdays.  There will be loving engagements.  There will be beautiful weddings (including mine – WHEEEE!).  And there will be joyful new babies…

When Cat asked me to photograph her family portraits with her new baby in November, I couldn’t resist the opportunity.  I always feel honored when couples ask me to shoot their weddings, but I always feel humbled when I’m asked to shoot portraits with a new baby.  These are the photos that are sent to aunts and uncles, and grandmothers and grandfathers.  These are the photos that are framed and placed on desks or nightstands.  These are the photos you ask, a few months down the line, Where did the time go?

These are the photos that preserve innocence and joy.
