Over a month ago, I had the amazing opportunity to be a part of Caroline Tran‘s new workshop, The Propel Retreat. It wasn’t just any ordinary workshop. It was a retreat. For 3 whole days with 9 other “propellers”. Living at a beautiful estate in Malibu. That included stylized shoots involving some of LA’s best stylists and makeup artists. With Caroline at your disposal. For 24 hours. Yes, she too stayed with all her Propel students at the estate and we all had a slumber party!
Caroline’s work has been a source of inspiration for me. Of all the photographers to fall in love with (yes, I do have just a teeny bit of a girl crush), Caroline’s work captivates me and speaks to me. Her images always make me feel happy and a little sentimental… okay, A LOT sentimental. I first came across Caroline’s work while surfing for photographers whose style intrigued me. Who left me breathless. When I first came across her work she hadn’t been in the business for too long and so I became curious to see how her business would pan out. Inspiring. Inspiring. INSPIRING. Over the few short years she’s been in business I’ve seen her images evolve to what they are now and I’m utterly fascinated. So talented. Her retreat couldn’t have come at a better time and I appreciate her willingness to share her knowledge. It’s 2013. A new year. A new perspective. And a fresh re-boot to propel this passion further.
Yep, re-boot. We all need one from time to time. 2013 will be an amazing year for many of us and it’s looking optimistic! Stay tuned because you might see some re-branding, a new office, and a new line of products and silk wedding albums.
